    Non-Operative Management & Watchful Waiting

    Orthopaedic Surgeon

Many upper limb conditions can be treated non-surgically. To reduce wait times, please ensure your patients have undergone non-operative treatments for at least 3 months, if appropriate. Treatment options include physiotherapy, hand therapy, splinting, and medications such as NSAIDs and cortisone injections.

In some cases, a Watchful Waiting approach may be necessary. Complex conditions may present with vague symptoms that become clearer over time, allowing for more targeted treatment as the pathology develops.
