After-Operation

After Your Operation

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Many upper limb procedures are performed as day surgeries, meaning you can go home the same day. You will need someone to take you home safely after the procedure.

For more complex operations, such as arthroscopic shoulder surgery or joint replacements, an overnight stay may be required. During your stay, you may receive antibiotics, and a post-operative X-ray may be necessary. A physiotherapist will see you before discharge to explain the rehabilitation process, ensuring your recovery begins right away.

We work closely with your anaesthetist to manage your pain and ensure your comfort after the operation. Hospital staff will provide you with medication to take home, so you remain comfortable during your recovery.

Our team is available to assist with any concerns during business hours. For urgent issues outside of business hours, please contact your local doctor or visit the nearest emergency department.
